About William (Bill) Kester, CMT

Bill is certified by the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC)

as a Certified Massage Therapist (#11256, exp. 7/27/24). He is a

Certified level member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage

Professionals (ABMP). He has been practicing Esalen® Massage,

Craniosacral Therapy and Deep Structural Bodywork in Berkeley,

California since 2003.

Esalen Institute certified Bill as an Esalen® Massage Practitioner

in 2002. He also studied Deep Bodywork at Esalen and studied

Advanced Esalen® Massage at Body Therapy Center in Palo Alto.

Body Therapy Center certified Bill as an Advanced Massage

Therapist and as a Craniosacral Practitioner in 2003. He taught

Advanced Massage and Bodywork at Body Therapy Center

(now McKinnon BTC) from 2003 to 2008.

The Milne Institute certified Bill as a Visionary Craniosacral Therapy Worker (VCSW) in 2010 upon completion of a three year course of study and training.

In conjunction with previous work as a drama teacher and director, Bill studied Laban Movement Analysis, Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement, and Kristin Linklater's Freeing the Natural Voice. He holds a BA and MA in Drama from San Francisco State University.

While Bill's training is grounded in study of anatomy, physiology and technique, it is also true to say he works from the heart, believing the body is a record of emotional and spiritual traumas as well as physical ones.
